1960 – PGA Tour comes to DeSoto Lakes
Desoto Lakes hosted several major events in the 1960’s; the “Desoto Open” a PGA Tour event which was won by PGA legend Sam Snead. “All Star Golf” which was narrated by Jimmy Demaret, and in later years became known as the Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf.
